To keep website information accurate, categories clear, and files accessible, the Alliance is introducing a routine verification and updating mechanism from July. It covers the main public sections, including News, Alliance Updates, Alliance Activities, Research White Papers, Translation Reports, Standard References, and Expert Profiles.
Verification methods
- Scheduled review: Quarterly checks of category content, date information, bilingual fields, and public files.
- Event-triggered updates: Corresponding updates after an activity, resource release, category adjustment, or information change.
- Focused checks: Separate handling of inaccessible PDFs, character encoding problems, missing fields, or inconsistencies between Chinese and English.
Areas checked
Each review examines whether an article belongs to the correct category, whether its publication date corresponds with the activity or resource timeline, whether Chinese and English titles, summaries, and body content are complete, whether cover images and PDF addresses are accessible, and whether the page contains outdated, duplicated, or unverifiable wording.
For cited standards and other public external materials, the review also checks that the relationship is described clearly and that an external document is not presented as a standard issued or drafted by the Alliance. Cooperation arrangements, expert identities, media publication, and outcome figures will not be stated as confirmed facts without supporting information that can be checked.
Policy for media coverage
The Media Coverage section will include only items formally published by an external media organization where the outlet name, publication date, and public link are available. A media-ready release may first be published under News, but it will not be recorded as media coverage until an external publication record exists.
Updates and corrections
Where information needs supplementation or correction, the underlying material will be checked before the content is updated in the administration system, followed by a review of both language versions. Necessary maintenance records will be retained so that public changes have a clear basis and prolonged inactivity does not create misunderstanding.
